In the fourth and final game at Mariucci arena, home of the University of Minnesota Gophers the Shamrocks played the Balmoral Hall Blazers from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Balmoral Hall took a first period lead after capitalizing on late power play goal. In the second period the Shamrocks went down 2-0 on a screened shot from the point. On a late second period offensive zone face off the Shamrocks drew within 1 on a great individual effort by right winger Sophia Quick.
Going in to the third the Shamrocks were trailing 2-1. Amanda Conway tied the game on a short side snipe after a Balmoral Hall turnover forced by Ali Peper. Later Ali O’Leary brought the puck out of the corner, passed it back door to senior defenseman Ashley Defusco who shot it on net. Cassidy McNeeley battling for position in front had a chance on the rebound and Jessie Jacques found the loose puck in the crease and put it in to give the shamrocks the 3-2 lead.
With the Balmoral Hall goalie pulled Ali Peper intercepted a pass and shot the puck into the empty net to seal the game and make the final 4-2 Shamrocks. Kate Turner was again solid in net for the Shamrocks notching her 3rd win of the weekend.
