The Junior Women’s Hockey League recently announced the 2015-16 rosters for its February 11th All-Star Game. The JWHL All Star game is intended to showcase the league’s top players in a North vs. South format. Boston Shamrocks forwards Michaela Boyle (Reading, MA), Amanda Conway (Tewksbury, MA), and Jesse Jacques(North Reading, MA), along with defenseman Ali Peper(Arvada, CO), were named to the South Division All-Star squad.
The All-Star game will kick off the 9th annual JWHL Challenge Cup. The Challenge Cup will run from February 12th through 15th. In addition to the tournament, the Washington Capitals and JWHL will be hosting a free girls clinic at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington, Virginia on Thursday February 11th at 6:50PM followed by the JWHL All-Star Game at 8:00PM.
Over the years, this event has grown to be one of the top scouting opportunities for NCAA programs as well as Hockey Canada and USA Hockey. The tournament will host 38 elite teams from the United States and Canada, attracting over 8,000 players and spectators. The U19 Division games will be played at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex while the U16 and U14 Division tournament games will be played at the nearby Rockville Ice Arena in Rockville, Maryland.
