Coach Sean Fisher Gassing Up Bus For Buffalo Trip
By James Murphy
Let the real games begin! That’s what the Boston Shamrocks Under 19 team is were saying before they got on the team bus and headed north to Buffalo Friday to get the 2017-18 JWHL regular season under way. “It’s exciting to finally get our JWHL league play started this weekend in Buffalo, NY!” Director Of Hockey Operations and head coach Sean Fisher said. “Our girls have worked very hard academically, in practice and in the weight room leading up to the start of the season. I know they will be excited to play and test their abilities as a team against the great competition that the JWHL provides.”
The Shamrocks will kick the season off with a doubleheader against the Chicago Young Americans Saturday at 3:45 PM and The Balmoral Hall Blazers at 7:45 at The Rinks At Harbor Center. They’ll finish the three-game weekend set off with a tilt against the Pacific Steelers at 11:45 AM on Sunday and then trek home.
One thing Fisher, Assistant Coach Jordan Hampton and the Shamrocks have been focused on throughout training camp and in recent trips to showcase tournaments in Stony Creek, Ontario and Burlington, Vermont, has been forming chemistry on and off the ice. Fisher believes that the players have done a great job of embracing this. “We have done some different things to bring together the personalities that we have in our locker room,” Fisher said. “I know the principle goal our players have is to continue to develop our culture. Who we are, what we represent and why we play the game is a major focus for our team.”
