Julia Masotta Commits to Norwich University

The Boston Shamrocks are pleased to announce junior forward Julia Masotta (Tewksbury, Mass.) has committed to the Norwich University Cadets women’s hockey program for the 2019-20 season.

Masotta is the second member of the 2017-18 Shamrocks to commit to Norwich. Boston Shamrocks senior Taylor Tom (Kenora, Ontario) also recently committed to the Northfield, Vermont school. Shamrocks’ alumna Amanda Conway (Methuen, Mass.) is currently a sophomore forward with the Cadets.  Conway was recently named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) 2017-18 Player of the Year.

The Cadets compete in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC). The women’s head coach is Mark Bolding. The 2007-08 season marked the inaugural season of the Norwich Cadets as a varsity team. During the 2008-09 campaign, the Cadets enjoyed their first-ever ECAC East Conference Tournament Championship.  The Cadets also qualified for their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2009. In only the fourth year as a varsity program the Cadets won their first Division III National Title in 2011.

2017-18 marks the eighth straight season the Cadets entered the NEHC postseason as the No. 1 overall seed.  In its 10 years as a varsity hockey program the Cadets have made it to the NCAA Division III final four 6 times and to the Championship Game three times.
