Thursday afternoon the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) women’s division announced the recipients of the league’s major award winners as selected by the league’s eight head coaches. Boston Shamrocks Alumna and Norwich University Sophomore forward Amanda Conway(Methuen, Mass.) was named the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Player of the Year.
Conway earned Player of the Year honors after leading the NEHC in scoring with 29 points on 19 goals and ten assists. Her 47 overall points (26 goals, 21 assists) rank third nationally in all of Division III. Conway has also been a menace for opposing teams on the power play, where her seven power play goals tie her for fourth most in the country. Conway also received NEHC Player of the Week honors three times during the 2017-18 regular season.
The NEHC postseason begins with quarterfinal action on Saturday, February 17. Norwich earned the No. 1 seed for the NEHC Tournament after winning its seventh regular season title in the last eight years. The Cadets will begin their quest for their eighth NEHC Tournament title on Saturday, February 17th when they host the New England College Pilgrims in quarterfinal action at 3 p.m. at the Kreitzberg Arena on the Norwich campus in Northfield, Vermont.
The semifinal round is scheduled for Saturday, February 24th with the league championship taking place on Saturday, March 3rd. All games will be held at the campuses of the highest seed.
